The legal profession is becoming more complex, specialized and global, and the profession is changing. New skills, like resilience, are needed to help lawyers and legal professionals better adapt to these challenges and develop as well-rounded leaders.
Paula’s work with the University of Pennsylvania, the United States Army’s resilience program and other studies show that resilience enables higher performance, more effective communication, better relationships and teams and more effective problem solving. Those qualities then help lawyers and legal professionals to manage stress in healthier ways, reframe challenges, develop as leaders and collaborate and innovate.
This e-book explores the Army’s efforts to incorporate resilience at the cultural level, and the key steps Army senior leadership took to make that happen. In addition, you will learn more about the research supporting resilience in the workplace and the need for these tools to be applied systemically.
